Oil Seal

Oil Seals are primarily used by most industries to retain grease in a certain case or housing. These are effective measures to close a space in between stationary or moving components in different machineries and mechanical equipment. Preventing lubricant escape, this type of seal also effectively protects machinery from harmful contaminants and dirt.

These are the most popular dynamic seals for high speed rotating shafts and low pressure lubricants. Oil seals are used to keep lubricating fluids in any system where a bearing is used to support a rotating shaft and keeps any contaminant away from the given system. These are made durable using rubber elastomer that is bonded to a metal case or can and helps keep the lip against the shaft using its garter spring. These are typically installed adjacent to a bearing that seals in or out various gases, liquids or solids encountered by a given mechanism. Oil seals are also available in split type for easy installation and effectively reduce downtime by eliminating the dismantling of machinery. These are recommended for horizontal shafts and are commonly characterized with single lip or double lip.
